One month until our first gig. It may just be a birthday party gig but for us it’s our first time unleashing our music live onto the world. And we only have 4 more rehearsal sessions before then, so now is the time for us to be practising, practising, practising, to make sure we can get these songs as tight as possible.

I’m confident in the band, though. We finished all our writing on Saturday, the birthday song is completed, as is People Are Strange, so our remaining sessions are free to hammer away at the set and get it working.

We’ve even got the hardware sorted out. Thanks to my parents, we were able to purchase one of these:

It’s a Yamaha Stage PAS 500, which should provide us with enough power so the audience can hear me sing over the drums and guitars. What a novelty!

We’re planning to video tape the gig as well as get some photos taken, so you’ll be able to see whether we rock the house or fall on our asses; either way, it should be entertaining!
